The Batman trailer has been rendered in LEGO – and it's awesome

Have you seen the first trailer for The Batman? Of course you have. But have you seen it rendered in LEGO form? If not, then we've got a treat for you here on the blog.

The Matt Reeves/Robert Pattinson origin story movie gets the blocky treatment, painstakingly realised in scene by scene fashion to hilarious effect. This includes the slow-burn reveal of the diabolical Riddler's (Paul Dano's) cryptic murders, and that shadowy first reveal of Pattinson's Caped Crusader.

Full credit to YouTube creator Joebor1777 who says that work on this LEGO recreation began on the day that The Batman trailer launched. That was 23rd August if you remember, launched as part of the DC FanDome event.

Joebor1777 has gone to town with this, rendering the action sequences like the Riddler's goons crashing the funeral to amusing and detailed effect. Check it out below.

Returning to the realm of live-action, Pattinson portrays the tormented Bruce Wayne at the outset of his Batman odyssey. Reeves, who directed War for the Planet of the Apes and Cloverfield, has stated that he's taking Wayne back to his detective roots while throwing in an assortment of villains and recognisable faces.

In addition to Dano's Riddler, we've got Colin Farrell's The Penguin, Andy Serkis' Alfred, Zoe Kravitz's Catwoman and John Turturro's Carmine Falcone rounding out the impressive ensemble. Production was initially interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic early this year, but restarted in September. According to the new lockdown guidelines as of October, The Batman will be allowed to continue filming in the UK.

The Batman's new release date is 1st October 2021 (at the time of writing). Excited?
